Work of the Riigikogu
The Riigikogu works also during the emergency situation, because in complicated times the work of the Parliament is very important. In the committees, the members of the Riigikogu continuously get fresh information about the situation in the country. The sittings of committees are held through video bridge. The Constitutional Committee initiated a Bill that would enable to conduct the sittings of the Riigikogu by remote attendance in the future.
Besides legislative work, the role of the Parliament in exercising supervision over the activities of the Government is also relevant. Therefore, we broadcast Question Time of the Riigikogu, which is held every Wednesday, both on our webpage and on Facebook.
The Council of Elders of the Riigikogu, consisting of the Board of the Riigikogu and the representatives of the factions, meets regularly in order to respond promptly to the situation.
